Breast Cancer Awareness Bazzar & Marathon.

Since 2018, students of the Better Community Club organise a charity bazaar and marathon to raise awareness about breast cancer, which are held every October in Blagoevgrad.

Together against breast cancer! Since 2018, the students of the Better Community Club have been organizing, with the help of sponsors, a charity bazaar and marathon to raise awareness about breast cancer as an increasingly common disease. The event is held annually in mid-October in Blagoevgrad on the lawn in front of the America for Bulgaria building, and the marathon is held along the promenade by the river. Everyone is welcomed at the event - all enthusiasts from the university as well as local residents. It is held on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the aim is to donate the funds raised from the bazaar to an organisation that fights for the cause. In 2025 a record amount of BGN 7213 was raised.

The Bazaar

The Bazaar is the main component of the event - handmade items and treats made by the students or provided by the sponsors are sold.

The Marathon

Towards the end of the day, the 3 km marathon is held, where the sports club of the university, Olympics, ensures the successful organization. The aim is to attract and involve even more people to the cause of the bazaar.

Real Impact

The importance of Breast Cancer Awareness rises every day and we from Better Community Club are proud to be able to help shine a real light to an issue that profoundly affects the community.

This year's charity campaign was enhanced by an educational lecture on breast cancer prevention and trearment by Dr. Vanya Mitova - specialist surgeon and the creator of BreastHelp: The first app in Bulgaria that provides check-up and screening in regards to Breast Cancer.
